GOALS

  • This home was one of the first three homes that was certified as a Nebraska Green Built Home. It was constructed as a prototype for the Green Building program and, along with two additional prototype homes, was used for contractor, framer, mechanical installer, interior designer, realtor and general public training regarding the benefits of "green building".
  • To exceed the building envelope requirements of the 2000 International Energy Conservation Code by 30% or receive an energy rating of at least five stars as certified by a Nebraska Home Energy Rater.
The Pride Home is one of three energy efficient homes sponsored by the Nebraska Energy Office

This two-story home has a full deep basement, which is insulated, but not finished. The main level contains the living/family room, kitchen, dining room, office, half bath, and mud room. The second floor has three bedrooms, laundry room and a window seating area adjacent to the stairwell.
