SPECIAL INFORMATION

A gut-rehab that brought an existing lot and much of the exising structure on the outskirts of Philadelphia back to life. Passive solar enhancements provide daylighting, heating and cooling opportunities while an active evacuated tube solar collection system pre-heats domestic hot water. The airtight building envelope is essential to the passive solar success.

During renovation many products were salvaged and reused. In addition the composting and off-demand electrical use activities of the homeowners all adds up to a lower overall carbon footprint for this home and occupants.
